SANDRA CHI for Discipline SS2010

DiSCiPLiNE SS2010 collection is inspired by THE BLACK AND WHITE DANCE PARTY held byTruman Capote in NYC, at Plaza Hotel, on November 28th 1966. The writer gave this gala to self-promote his successful book In Cold Blood. Lots of the most stylish personalities were among the guests that night: Marella Agnelli, Jimmy Brown, Kim Novak, Tony Curtis, Pat Brown, Ed Sullivan, Pierre Salinger, Lynn Redgrave and Casey Stengel. It was oh! so full of grace and discipline, of course, because there was a very exact dress code: black and white clothings. T-Dress and a T-Shirt, are both patterned by DiSCiPLiNE featuring illustrator Sandra Chi for . Sandra Chi born in California of South-Korean decent, and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her work is highly influenced by her trilingual background. Her visual language is a contemporary translation of European influences on traditional Southeast Asian decorative art. Growing up in Indonesia contributed to Chi’s avid interest in the country’s decorative elements, which became an integral part of her own visual language. Sandra Chi explores myriad styles across multiple mediums.

Bring Your Courage: Diesel Launches Only The Brave
April 30, 2009 2:09 pm
Here’s another stop for your Thursday-night gallery crawl. In honor of its new men’s fragrance, Only the Brave, Diesel has commissioned artists like Sandra Chi, Bob Partington, and Keystone Design Union’s David Gensler and Aerosyn-Lex to create pieces that explore the nerve it takes to be, well, brave. The work will be on view at a pop-up exhibit at Openhouse Gallery on Mulberry Street alongside Magomed Dovjenko’s illustration before moving to the Diesel Denim Gallery. The best part? With a theme as gutsy as bravery, there’s no way they’ll have the, um, nerve to serve room-temperature white whine.

My good bud Ben Borowski presenting new house track mix.  This mix is loosely based on a 3 hour live set he did at a BKWLD(his company) party a few months ago.  The album art is by ME.  Check out his tracks.
